How KeyValt works

The dashboard, the vault and the extension — and how they fit together.

KeyValt has three parts that work together:

  • The dashboard (this website) where you organise portals into categories, favourites and recents, and manage multiple accounts per portal.
  • The encrypted vault that stores your logins. It is locked with your master password and decrypted only on your device.
  • The browser extension that opens the portal, verifies the website and fills your login on the correct page.

A typical login

  1. Click a portal card (or press Ctrl/⌘ + K and search).
  2. If the portal has several accounts, choose one.
  3. The extension opens the official login page and checks the site’s real address against the websites saved with that account.
  4. If everything matches, it fills your username and password (and authenticator code, if configured). If the portal has a CAPTCHA, you complete it and click Login yourself.
